Wally founded PFA in 2010, following a career that included senior-level positions with national accounting and investment management firms, co-owner and president of the Family Office Exchange, and CEO of the trust and investment management business unit of The Private Bank and Trust Company in Chicago.
When Wally joined Gresham Partners, LLC as vice chairman in 2012, PFA became a wholly owned subsidiary of Gresham. Wally reacquired PFA when he retired from Gresham at the end of 2021.

Relying on his background as an attorney and a CPA, Wally has advised families regarding all aspects of their wealth for over 40 years.

Throughout his career, Wally has held leadership positions in national accounting and financial services firms and non-profit organizations. He also has authored many articles and been a frequent speaker, panelist or moderator on a full range of wealth management topics.

Wally grew up on a farm, which he and his brother still operate and is owned by fourth and fifth generation family members. He received a B.A. degree from Westminster College, where he subsequently served as chair of its Board of Trustees, and M.B.A. and J.D. degrees from the University of Missouri.
Wally is a founding board member, treasurer and chair of the finance and administration committee of The Ultra High Net Worth Institute.
